What is your Grand Plan for life? How does college fit in? (< 300 words)

My college education has allowed me to prosper and find my passions in
life. These passions, which I hope to include in my life plan, are
accessibility, education, and equality. I want to contribute to making
technology and everyday life tasks more accessible to everyone. No one
should be held back based on disabilities they cannot control, nor held
back based on income or circumstance. Education is incredibly important,
and opportunities are not the same for everyone, whether it be because of
income, neighborhood, appearance, or other responsibility. Technology is a
huge part of this - schools in lower income areas do not have the same
opportunities to expose their students to new learning techniques, perhaps
simply because they lack the equipment to do so. Some students have
barriers to education based on their looks - there are some preconceived
notions of what some children, and adults, should study and/or have access
to. Women, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and people of certain
religions are still heavily disadvantaged in many prospects. Accessibility
and education are huge in changing this inequality. These marginalized
groups need equal access to opportunities and confidence in living their
everyday lives, which is heavily influenced by discrimination. Education
is huge in changing these existing negative attitudes and raising children
with open minds towards people who are different from them.
Everyone should be able to have the same opportunities for our society
to succeed. I believe the key to this is technology, open access to
information, and bridging the gap between other people’s experiences. My
Grand Plan for life is to continue my career path in software development
by contributing my time and energy into making technology and information
more accessible to everyone, creating educational platforms, and
continuing my pursuit for equality for all.
